Fastpitch Pitching Coordinator

Upon spending nearly 15 years around the sport of fastpitch softball, Larry began to instruct quad city area pitchers in the “open door” resistance style.

This method is known today as the Division 1 collegiate standard where internal rotation is utilized. Larry had the unique opportunity to train one on one for nearly 3 years with current Virginia Tech softball pitching coach, Doug Gillis, undoubtedly one of the worlds premier fastpitch pitching coaches.
Within just his 5th year of instruction, Larry has already assisted numerous girls in achieving state and national titles as well as collegiate scholarships. Many know Larry as the father of former Morrison, Illinois standout and pre-college nationally ranked PGF Beverly Bandit pitcher, Lauren Rice. Lauren pitched the 2018 collegiate season with the Missouri Tigers leading the Tigers in every pitching statistic to a NCAA Regional in Oklahoma City. In 2019, as a sophomore, she completed her season with The Ohio State Buckeyes amassing a 16-4 pitching record while assisting her team once again to a NCAA Regional appearance.

Most importantly, Larry has the ability, knowledge and resources available to him to assist softball pitchers in achieving both their personal and team goals.
